Field Trip 6 has been cancelled as the minimum registration numbers were not achieved.
This field trip will interest sedimentologists. The trip will visit the lower Orange River alluvials and marine placers being mined by De Beers Namibia (Namdeb Diamond Corporation) between Oranjemund at the mouth of the Orange River all along the beach to Luderitz.

This pre-conference only field trip is restricted to 9 delegates.
Start and End Points
Start point is Luderitiz, Namibia and the end point is Oranjemund, Namibia. These places are accessed via Windhoek, Namibia. Delegates should book very early on the single flight from Windhoek to Luderitz on Monday 11th September 2017 and from Oranjemund to Windhoek on Friday 15 September 2017. If delegates travel directly to Gaborone they will arrive before the start of the 11 IKC hotel room blocks, but will still receive the 11 IKC conference room rate at the designated on-site 11 IKC hotels (Walmont and Metcourt).
